This site was developed in 2008 for Timothy Karpoff and Associates in support of the master planning process for Valencia County, NM.
LesLie Consulting, LC, in cooperation with POD, Inc., developed Sun Healthcare Group's internet web site in 2001 - 2002. At launch, this mammoth site contained over 400 web pages and was designed for use with multiple browser versions on both PCs and Macintoshes. The life of a commercial website design is about 3-5 years and this site has since been redesigned. The link above will display sample pages from the site that Leslie Consulting created. Note that some links are not functional in this demo. Because the information on the site changes frequently, we developed a database interface program to run internally at Sun Healthcare Group. This program made it possible for non-technical staff to create and maintain most of the site's web pages. The site used several technologies, including Active Server Pages (VBScript), Dynamic HTML with Javascript, Macromedia Fireworks, Excel, and ASPMail, on a SQL Server 2000 database.
Native American CHATT is an education and research tool developed for use by the Cancer Research Facility at University of New Mexico. The site is installed at schools in New Mexico. Children read stories about tobacco use in Native American cultures and have a chance to write their own. For more information about the research, contact Debra Klecan, UNM LesLie Consulting, LC, developed this project with POD, Inc. This site was designed taking into consideration several technical constraints. Children had to be able to create and save their stories for display in web pages. However, in many cases no database was available. The actual NACHATT program is a Visual Basic application running a web browser control. Visual Basic intercepts some of the functions in order to create and save story information, login information, and to provide access to the local file system where images are stored. The site is designed to run on Internet Exploror 5.x & 6.x browsers only. Located in the Research Park at UNM, this startup company needed a way to manage their product test data and inventory. Leslie Consulting, LC developed a web-enabled database application running over SQL server, using the latest .NET technology. Like many database applications intended for internal company use only, this application is not available publicly on the internet. However, you may contact us if you would like to see a demo of the system and its capabilities. LesLie Consulting, LC, developed these web pages enabling the Water Assembly to post portions of the Regional Water Plan as it is being developed, and to received comments about specific sections of the plan. Two pages, one listing chapters and the other individual subsections of the plan, were developed using dynamic HTML and a special email setup that handles multiple email addresses. The site administrator is able to update the plan drafts and receive comments about specific sections of the plan with a minimal knowledge of HTML. Based on dates supplied by the administrator, the pages automatically post a New! tag next to recent updates. Pages also display hardhat icons for sections that are "under construction." Note that in these sample pages links do not point to actual water plan documents.
Leslie developed these pages in April, 2007 as part of an Instructional System Design course at University of New Mexico. Note that these are "content only" pages--an attractive user interface was outside the scope of the project. Check out the design documents on the home page for more information about the project itself. |
