When
I was in Jr. high and students had started to experiment with cigarettes,
I had some friends that started to smoke cloves. My friends claimed
that they were not regular cigarettes because there were more herbs
than tobacco in them. They were claiming that these types of cigarettes
were not as bad for the person's health. In addition to this, the
students liked them more because these cigarettes had a sweet smell
to them. This was one of the reasons why my friends started to smoke
them. Since my friends smoked them pretty regularly we would stop
at this one liquor store and buy them on our way home. At this store
all the students knew they could always buy cigarettes.
A few years later, reports were showing that these
cloves cigarettes caused more damage than regular cigarettes because
whatever was in them caused crystallization in the lungs. The students
who were chronic users were coughing up blood. The cloves were causing
damage to the students' lungs a lot quicker than regular cigarettes.
