Leslie completed a Master of Arts in History from Northwestern University in 1991. In 2008 she conducted historical and field research on three trans-basin acequias in the Mora Valley. The resulting paper is available from and Land and Water Collection of the Center for Southwest Research at UNM. A related article, Of Three Mora Valley Acequias (Kryder, 2010), is found in the Greater Communities Project book of the New Mexico Chapter of the American Planning Association. Publication expected later in 2010. In 2008-2009, Leslie developed an annotated bibliography based on over 15,000 pages of historical and technical documents associated with the Rio Grande Project from before its inception in 1904 through signing of the Rio Grande Compact between Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado in 1938. |
